of planning Students
About us
The Toronto Metropolitan Association of Planning students is a group of passionate, hardworking, and accomplished planning students that strive for re-imagining the world of urban and regional planning. We take pride in giving back to our community and are always looking for ways to provide academic support to students in the program.
Â
“After studying and bonding with the planning community for the last few years, we are both extremely excited to give back through the development of the undergraduate program. It’s a privilege that we are able to represent our community, where we will continue to contribute to its growth in whatever ways we can”

our mission
.
TMAPS is the course union affiliate of the Toronto Met Students’ Union (TMSU) that represents undergraduate Urban and Regional Planning students at Toronto Metropolitan University. We are elected to represent the interests of the SURP student body.
As a course union, we are committed to creating a strong urban and regional planning community on our campus by organizing a variety of diverse events where planning students of all years learn, laugh, work and grow together. We strive to increase the opportunity for all students to take part in the coordination and implementation of our events through design and event planning committees. We also encourage contributions of innovative ideas through various methods of social media so that we can plan events that have something for everyone.

Faculty of Community Services Society (FCSS)

.
The Faculty of Community Services Society is the elected student society government that seeks to build a community for over 8,700+ undergraduate students in the Faculty of Community Services (FCS) at Toronto Metropolitan University. Our mission is to unify students together within the 11 programs at the Faculty of Community Services, enabling them to be heard as one unified voice. We center our initiatives around the four pillars of unity, mental health, professional development, and academic advocacy. FCSSÂ was recognized by Toronto Met in 2017. It passed its 2022-23 fall referendum securing the student government in its future funding opportunities for students in FCS.Â
Toronto Met Students’
Union (TMSU)
.
The Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union (TMSU) formerly known as the Ryerson Students’ Union (RSU) is the current students’ union that represents full-time undergraduate students at Toronto Metropolitan University, (known until 2022 as Ryerson University). All full-time students are required to be members and pay a levy. TMSU seeks to empower students and build community on TMU’s campus by advocating for your rights, supporting student groups, events and initiatives, and providing discounted services. The TMSU is here for you. It is a platform to encourage collaboration, engagement and empowerment — we are your allies, a resource students can depend on for timely and accurate representation now and in the future.
